The return of Capital Models...

Following another long hiatus, in April 2012, David Reilly, Jamie Frain and Keith Apter played a couple of sets of cover versions in Edinburgh, using acoustic guitars, bass and percussion...

Last month David, Jamie and Keith reconvened to rehearse three new covers sets, this time as a trio of guitar, bass and drums.  Angus Bolton was approached to play too and, despite sadly declining the invitation, he did sanction the trio performing once more as Capital Models...

And so we have the return of Capital Models - at The Kilted Pig, 101 Colinton Road, Edinburgh (http://www.kiltedpig.co.uk/) on the last Saturday of the year 29th December - the first performance under the old name since August 1980!

The band will play three sets of covers, kicking off around 9/9:30 and playing into the wee small hours...

As well as the usual crowd-pleasing suspects (Elvis, Johnny Cash, Creedence, Van Morrison, Neil Diamond) they're rehearsing stuff by the likes of Bryan Ferry / Bob Dylan / Neil Young / Simon & Garfunkel / Lou Reed / Soft Cell / David Bowie / The Velvet Underground / The Beatles / Roxy Music etc etc and hoping it's going to be a good party night to bid an early farewell to 2012...

Entry is free and all are welcome...

Capital Models - 1980

Capital Models was an Edinburgh-based New Wave band...

At present only one recording of the group is available, "Second Generation" was included in a 40 year retrospective of David Reilly's music in 2017 - it's available on Bandcamp...

In 2011, members of the band reconvened - the results are set out in the blog below...

If you scroll down, you can also read the full history of the band...
